Riley

Well Riley has been adopted and he is sharing his new home with 2 other 3 year old male newfs. Riley has the perfect home in the country. He can run around and play with his new friends. His new owners will love and spoil him for sure!

Liz Ann and Sunshine

These two beauties came to us with a very sad story. Their owner was dying of cancer and was very heartbroken to give up her dogs. We had promised to try our best to keep them together and we did!

Liz Ann and Sunshine have gone across the border to a wonderful home. They have lots of room to roam around and explore in the forest as well as be loved by two kids and a Mom and Dad. The girls are middle aged and it isn't always easy to find a home for older dogs. Special care had to be taken in matching up these families and everyone involved was happy with the outcome. CNR can't thank Kimbra and her family enough for taking the girls and loving them so much.

Neila

Neila has found her new home!
Linda and Glen have been fostering Neila for a few months and they think that Neila is for them. Neila is living in the country and she has a few huskies as friends. She has one favorite named Doon. She will also be friends with a few llamas at her new house. We can't thank Linda and Glen for all the time, patience and love they have shown Neila.

Shadow

Shadow has found his new home!

This big loveable guy is now great friends with his two cats and is enjoying his new home. Thank you to Clint for opening up his heart and home to this wonderful big guy! Everybody is happy and doing well.

Maci

Maci has found her new forever home. She is now living with a her new family and they love her to pieces! She has a furry little (4 lb) pomeranian sister named Kelly and also a big cat to spend time with. We thank Brent, Sue and Brandon for giving Maci a wonderful home!

Grace and Sealy

These two old girls came into Canadian Newf Rescue a few months apart. They are both 10 years old and are wonderful dogs. It isn't easy to place the older dogs, because most people are afraid of adopting them due to the fear of losing them fast and also health issues.

Connie and Stephen weren't scared at all! They adopted Sealy first and then were asked if they could foster Grace for us until we found her a home. Well the two furry girls have won over Connie and Stephens hearts and they are now in their new happy family. Sealy and Grace can't thank you enough.

Cabot's Story

I’ll always remember the day Denise called and told me that she had the perfect little (127 pound) boy for us. With excitement, my husband and I went to meet Cabot.

Cabot had come to the Canadian Newf Rescue as a result of a divorce situation when he was about thirteen months old.

When we meet Cabot we knew that Denise had done what she does best, she made a perfect match between Cabot and my family. Cabot was definitely our dog!

Cabot is beyond a doubt a presents in our home. A day does not go by that Cabot has not added laughter and excitement to the house. Cabot is coming up to his third birthday and we couldnt think of our family without him.

We would like to take a moment and thank the Canadian Newf Rescue for being there for these wonderful dogs as well as for the families who get to benefit from the love of a Newf. As well a thank you to all the members who are there for guidance and support as we learned about the breed and having a now 165 pound Cabot in our home.

Janet and Derrick F.

Canada's First

Cody came to Canadian Newf Rescue (CNR) approximately 3 years ago under circumstances less than desirable. His owner was not present to say Good-bye to him, and a teenage neighbor had been asked to turn the dog over to us with the appropriate papers releasing Cody to CNR. The teenager said the he could not handle the dog and that I would have to put him in the truck myself. After I took the leash, I wished I had parked the truck a little closer.

Back at the Rescue, Cody was evaluated and Gerald Rogerson and Trisha Boyd came to mind as possible adopters. Both had visited our booth at the Toronto Sportsman Show and had decided the time for a newf had come. Cody was introduced to their dog and the two got along very well. The Cody you see today is from many tireless hours spent by Trisha working with him.

Our work, Trisha's dedication to Cody and the Canadian Kennel Club changing the by-laws to award a "Performance Event Number"(PEN) in lieu of a Registration Number, has enabled Cody to become the first Newfoundland dog to received the title. Cody is now certified as a Canine Lifeguard and history has been made.

Canadian Newf Rescue gives a big hug to Cody and a huge Thank-you to Trisha for her dedication and love for Cody.

Slobber kisses and hugs for Cody from all our 208 rescued Newfoundland's past and present who share in this outstanding award. Canadian Newf Rescue is proud.

Bonnie

Bonnie came to us approx. 4 years ago and she is a beautiful female with a bit of an attitude. She was surrendered to us because she was too much for the owners to handle. Bonnie has been adopted by us and she really is sweet. She loves to swim and she is the boss of the rest of our dogs. Her nickname is Bonnie bossy boots! She is the Queen of Canadian Newf Rescue!

Guinness

Guinness came as a surprise to CNR. His mother was surrendered, and unknown to us she was pregnant. Guiness arrived with his 6 brothers and sisters. Guinness was adopted out to his new owners and he lives on a 100 acre farm, swims everyday, walks the trails and has the company of two other dogs, Billy and Magnum.
